The 1,500 defilements (Keles) is a term frequently used by Dhamma preachers but rarely understood in detail. This book provides a comprehensive explanation of these defilements to help readers understand and cleanse their minds. This is the English translation of the Sinhala edition, prepared by Sri Sinharaja for the Sri Chandawimala Dhamma Treatises Preservation Board (Sri Vinayalankararamaya, Pokunuwita). The Board gave its permission to translate; its review of this first edition is in progress, and corrections are welcome. Every paragraph carries the Sinhala original behind it, and the key Pali terms are marked.
